The Big White Dress...?

So, I've been going through one of those girly phases of looking at wedding dresses, daydreaming about that fairytale day with a handsome man and a rather extravagant dress! But you know, as I searched the Google machine with my yummy hot chocolate, I found that every dress I saw I didn't like!! So I kept searching, and still nothing.

This worried me. What will happen, I thought, if I were to get married soon? I can't get married if I can’t find a dress I like, that's just preposterous!! So I have been noodling with the idea of designing my own... What will it look like? I have no idea but I’m sure when the day arrives it will be grand!

However, in all my searching I did stumble across a few rather interesting outfits that I found intriguing. And after seeing these, I really have to wonder, what would I wear on the big day? What would you wear? Would you wear this?

Even though it doesnt suit my personality at all, I would be very tempted to wear this dress if it wasnt a one-time-only deal. I LOVE the black lace hooked onto her thighs, its so sexy! What do you think, would you wear it?

I am also very curious about how people feel concerning the colour of their dress. I've seen more brides in creams and off whites than the traditional white, but what about other colours altogether? Would you wear blue or red? Like this dress, it's very pretty, but would you wear blue on your wedding day?

Hmmm so many new ideas to think about! To me it seems that the most important thing about a wedding dress in the modern day is that it remains true to the identity of the bride. A visual representation, if you will, of who the groom is committing himself to. We embrace individuality over tradition, which means a whole new day and age for the wedding dress. I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject!! Should we keep with tradition or discard it? What do you want for your wedding, or (if you are married), what was important for you?

Thanks for reading :)
